資助學校 ▏ Karma Lekshey Ling Institute (佛學院)

The Children at Karma Lekshey Ling School.

At present there are, in all, 150 monks, of different backgrounds, with ages ranging from 6 to 17. All of the 150 boarding in the school hostels are either destitute, underprivileged, orphans or refugees. Students who study in Karma Leksheyling School are very simple and friendly. 98% of the children come from the remote and inaccessible Himalayan region of Nepal. The majority of them share a similar background of a variety of hardship and deprivation due to a lack of access to government services. Without our help, there would be no opportunity of going to school, having a good meal, being protected, having decent clothes and a sheltered home. 90% of their parents are farmer and the rest are labors. Monthly income of their parents is not more than US$100 and this amount is just enough for daily needs. In this case, many of them can’t even afford for free government school. This is because they can’t pay for exam free, school dresses, stationary such as pen, pencil, note books etc, and three time meal every day. Thanks for the supporting and generosity of individual donors and sponsors, these children are now enjoying the opportunity to grow up, as normal children, in the right environments. Without our help, these children would be doomed to a life of poverty and their own children would remain trapped in this awful circle of hardship. Education is the only way out, and this is, with your help, easily achievable.
